Board Members

Jann Chambers is a director of Life Force and a previous member of the Annandale group.  Jann was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, and underwent two lots of chemo and one of radiotherapy. She found Life Force through the recommendation of a friend and neighbour, who had also found a great deal of support in dealing with the emotional and psychological impact of cancer through the group.

Jann works as a counsellor in her day job, and also is a practitioner of Medical Xi Gong. Jann is committed to helping the Life Force team to continue to provide the service to Cancer patients that she herself benefited from so much.

Cary Giezekamp Cary Giezekamp was first a generous benefactor of the organisation and became a Director of Life Force in 1997. Having lost his mother from cancer at the age of 17, Cary, the eldest of seven children, had a great understanding of what it's like for people living with cancer. His mother, Sandra, ran a support group in their home. Consequently Cary is vitally aware of the benefits of the Life Force programs. Life Force is now run out of the offices of his family real estate business in Annandale.

Angel Ioannou attended LFCF sessions late 2001 after his treatment for cancer that year. He strongly agrees with the philosphy of the foundation and has assisted in fund raising and in some of the information systems needs. He became a director in 2006 and looks to continue to promote and support the work of the organisation. Angel has worked in the IT industry for many years and is currently working with a large solutions provider.
Nicole Murray first became involved with Life Force as a volunteer "Angel" and shortly became the Angels' co-ordinator. Working tirelessly on behalf of the Foundation, she is now a Life Force Director and continues to promote and support the work of the organisation. Nicole works as a financial controller in the corporate world.
Counsellors and Facilitators

Jane Gillespie became a member of Life Force in 1995 after her treatment for breast cancer finished and she was having difficulty in getting on with her life.  Jane found this experience so beneficial that at the start of 1996 she enrolled in a two-year counselling course.  She now co-facilitates support groups and retreats for Life Force. Jane is passionate about the type of support that Life Force provides for its members and believes implicitly in the healing power of group work.  She has experienced this first-hand and also witnessed it in people who attend Life Force groups.

Caro Jonas Caro Jonas is a meditation, relaxation, and creative visualization teacher. She was a co-founder of Life Force in 1993 along with her friend Jilly Pascoe. She has spent a lifetime developing her skills and has worked in these groups for the last 12 years. She works with both patients’ and carers’ groups in Edgecliff and Annandale. She will also be working in new groups planned for the North Shore.
Katy Fitzgerald is a holistic counseller, life coach, kinesiologist and reiki practitioner. Katy incorporates sandplay, drawing, writing and focussing in her practice, and believes these approaches are a gentle, creative and effective way to allow people another way of expressing themselves without the need for words.  Katy has much experince in working with people who are dealing with cancer, and believes strongly in the need for emotional support during cancer treatment as well as adjusting to life after.

Gulia Priante was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and joined a Life Force support group because she needed help to cope with the emotional impact of her diagnosis. She completed her Diploma in Counselling in 2007. Gulia's first language is Italian and she is available for telephone and one-on-one counselling with Italian speaking cancer patients and their families.
